Eighth Distribution and Going Strong

We’ll call it Super 8 – we wrapped up the eighth distribution as of last night. We saw many bright faces come in to pick up their share of vegetables.

The distribution was partly market style leaving shareholders one harvest selection between a range of different goods: carrots, cucumbers, peppers, and radishes.

With that said, the baskets this week included:

• Leeks
• Cucumbers
• Summer Squash
• Radishes
• Potatoes
• Herbs
• Beets and young Greens
• Swiss Chard
• Carrots
• Beans

Cooking Tips & Recipes

Once again, we were fortunate to provide a sample at this week’s distribution. The lovely sample was zucchini fritters paired with a yogurt dip. If you didn’t try it, you missed out! Recipe courtesy of Mary and Ron – thanks guys!

And one more to try, throw in some leeks to this bacon and pea risotto. Make sure to wash them well!
